Somerford Park welcomes Baileys Horse Feeds as new sponsors of the water complexes at their International horse trials, hosted on 17-19 August 2018. The sponsorship heralds the beginning of a new partnership between Somerford Park and the Essex-based feed manufacturer, further details of which will be rolled out in the New Year.
Baileys has strong connections to the sport of eventing through its support of British Eventing’s Winter Series and several top international riders, and the feed brand is popular locally due to the long-term efforts of Area Representative, Caroline Dickens. Baileys Marketing Manager, Jane Buchan, is also a keen competitor and is taking part in the CIC**, at this year’s event. “Obviously, as a keen rider, when the opportunity to get involved with Somerford Park came up, I jumped at the chance,” said Jane.
“Luckily, it also makes sound commercial sense and all of us, at Baileys, are really looking forward to developing a mutually beneficial affiliation.” Somerford Park’s Commercial Director, Millie King, is also an accomplished event rider and a keen advocate of Baileys, “I recently won a CCI1* with Regal Mix, in Ireland, and the support I received from Caroline Dickens, on the run up to this event, was invaluable,” she explained.
There’s a strong synergy between the two family-owned and managed businesses and a great opportunity to benefit all those who enjoy the amazing facilities and events at Cheshire’s premier equestrian venue. “Somerford Park are delighted to have received interest and investment from Baileys Horse Feeds and look forward to working together to develop a strong sponsorship partnership for the future,” said Millie. Caroline and her Baileys colleagues will be on-hand throughout this month’s International horse trials to offer practical feeding advice and information.
Record entries have been received, and this year’s Badminton winner, Jonelle Price, will be competing throughout the weekend along with runner-up, British and World number one, Oliver Townend. Izzy Taylor is also back and will be aiming to reclaim her Somerford Park CIC2** title, from last year, and will be joined by European team gold and individual bronze medallist, Nicola Wilson and fellow team gold medallist, Ros Canter. Alongside them will be World team silver medallist, Harry Meade, a regular supporter of Somerford Park, Andrew Nicholson, Laura Collett, Alexander Bragg, Tim Price and many more.
Somerford Park has teamed up with British Eventing to bring you a BE Supporters Experience, which takes place on Sunday 19 August and includes an introduction and overview of the course from Course Designer, David Evans, followed by a guided course walk of the CIC2* cross country with top British rider, Piggy French.
