Entries are now open for Somerford Park’s Baileys Horse Feeds British Eventing (BE) Horse Trials.
The event will be held between 18th-19th May 2019, and will be hosting classes from BE80(T) to BE100Plus.
Andrew Heffernan has been allocated the position of cross-country cross designer. Heffernan possesses a prestigious track-record in eventing, competing at the London 2012 Olympics and achieving Bronze in 2014’s World Equestrian Games, representing the Netherlands. The Dutch eventer is now located in Cheshire, pursuing his career behind the scenes of eventing. Competitors will be able to get a flavour for his designs at Bradwall Horse Trials, which is set to take place at the end of April.
Kevin Bull is set to design the showjumping courses at this years Somerford Park International Horse Trials. Bull is a Level 5, Advanced British Showjumping (BS) course designer, as well as being a regional BS mentor for the Glamorgan Gwent region.
The cross-country course will be situated around the old Somerford Estate. The venue ensures a backdrop of glorious countryside with stunning views, accompanying competitors as they ride around the course. There is the possibility of three water complexes which could be incorporated into competition, too.
For spectators, the event is the perfect opportunity to catch a glimpse of the grounds, before Somerford Park’s larger events. The venue is set to host their International Horse Trials, later in the season, promising to attract big names such as Oliver Townend, Izzy Taylor and Ros Canter.
Spectators will not need to pre-purchase tickets, however pre-entries are required in order to compete at the event. For more information and the enter, click here.
